On the occasion of Visit Nepal year 2020, the International Buddhist Solidarity Conference has been concluded in Kathmandu to convey the message that “Nepal is peaceful”all around the world.In the program, Home-Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa said that the lessons of Buddha’s wisdoms and virtues are equally relevant in present, so that we should not be hesitate to promote peace and trust in the society. Inaugurating the International Buddhist Solidarity Conference, he emphasized the need of togetherness for the delight of country and people. He said that real peace and contentment would be achieved only if everyone embraced the Buddhist wisdoms with self-realization of the Buddha Mantra which protects them from the horrors of conflict and war. Further, he also addressed that the Buddha’s speech was a motivator for the betterment of society, unity and world peace. In the two days program,organizing committee coordinator Basundhara Shrestha informed that the Buddhist Unity Conference will be held annually.Earlier, Buddhist monks from all over the world had come to Kathmandu to give a message of peace.

The conference was attended by 85 foreigners and 50 indigenous Nepali monks. Among the foreigner, 15 monks are from Sri Lanka, 20 from Thailand, 12 from China and 40 from India. The monks also made a commitment tospreadthe message in their country to visit Nepal –the land of GautamBudhdha, during the VisitNepal year 2020. The monk also wished world peace while chanting Buddhist mantras. On this occasion, political advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Surya Subedi and the Buddhist monks were participated.
